Featured: November 3-November 9 2013 - Ryan Knorr - The Darker Side

It is November 3rd 2013 which means it is time to announce the next 'Song of the Week'.

You may already know the artist receiving this week's 'Song of the Week' spot. From Des Moines, Iowa, Ryan Knorr uploaded his first video to Youtube in 2007. And, [not even] two years after hitting 'upload' and Ryan had snagged over one million views.

Ryan creates an acoustic, pop/rock style sound. And, combined with his personal, relatable and overall well-written lyrics and catchy tunes, Ryan has been making a remarkable name for himself in the music industry.

Ryan Knorr released his first full length album, The Path Of Greatest Resistance, on June 29th 2010 to iTunes. And, complete with fourteen "incredible, warm and original" songs, as said by his fans, the album immediately gave his [already growing] career an even greater boost.

Since the release of his debut album a lot has been happening for Ryan. On his official website he stated, "It's been a long road since Ryan Knorr last released an album in 2010. The ups and downs of daily life, a death in the family and vocal issues that continue to nag the singer to this day were plenty enough inspiration to produce more of the heartfelt and personal songwriting that the twenty eight year old has become known for."

"What emerged out of the life experiences, since Knorr's last album, is a collection of songs that fill up his latest work entitled, The Darker Side. It's a phrase that continued to pop up when Knorr was deciding on what to name his new project."

The Darker Side was released to iTunes on July 1st 2013. The eleven track album immediately showcased what Ryan had been up to since the release of The Path Of Greatest Resistan
ce. The songs provide an even more matured sound, instantly captivating anyone who listens. And, the title track, The Darker Side, is earning this week's 'Song of the Week' spot because of [just] that.

Each song this talented man has ever written has always been complete with the most amazing poetry-like lyrics. And, this week's featured song, The Darker Side, is no different. The first verse alone states, "The colors on these walls, will brighten this dark hall, and mask my shade of grey, at least the outside, anyway."

As for Ryan himself, well, it seems he is pretty down to earth outside of his music career. Ryan states, "My music and songs are just one side of me and for those that know me on a day to day basis, their reaction can be that of a little bit of shock when they see the serious topics and subject matter that I touch on in my songs. I sometimes still struggle with that reaction but I'm learning I can't be afraid to write about certain things just because they might be too serious or sad or whatever the case may be. And, I have to let the art be what it is. Outside of my music I'm just a quiet guy who likes to be at home with my wife and dogs and watch all kinds of sports. So for those who only know the 'music side' of me, that fact might not seem to fit my music persona, but it's just reality."

So, with [over] three million views already accumulated on his official Youtube Channel, Ryan Knorr is certainly a talented young man you need to check out. His absolutely perfect acoustic style music is an instant winner and will always leave you on the edge of your seat wanting more.
