It is August 11th 2013 which means it is time to announce the next 'Song of the Week'.
Coming to you from Rockland County, New York, The Gift Of Ghosts put forth a [very] professional metal/electronica/pop style. And, it is no wonder why their song, titled Lost Boys, is earning this week's 'Song of the Week' featured spot.
The Gift Of Ghosts initially started in early 2010 between Alex Kouvatsos (guitar), Rich Wagner (bass / backing vocals) and Michael Galgano (drums). But, the guys really got things moving in 2011, after completing their [then] current line up and releasing their first EP, In The Nick Of Time.
In The Nick Of Time was released to iTunes on May 13th 2011. And, the EPs six tracks quickly started to gather a fan base for the band.
Since the release of their debut EP, Matt Mcnulty (vocals), the band's newest vocalist, Alex Kouvatsos (guitar), Jordan Curran (guitar), Rich Wagner (bass / backing vocals) and Michael Galgano (drums) have been keeping fans busy with some new tunes.
On December 12th 2011 the band released I, The Architect, followed by To Live In Fear on March 19th 2012. Plus, of course, most recently these five released their newest single, titled Lost Boys. And, let's just say Lost Boys is seriously attracting new fans, and fast.
The Gift Of Ghosts officially released Lost Boys to iTunes on January 29th 2013. And, with just seven months passed, they have managed to earn themselves over eighty four thousand views to their official lyric video posted on their Youtube Channel. As well, the song has earned five star reviews all over iTunes and the band's Facebook page just recently passed twenty eight thousand 'likes' as well.
When talking to Rich Wagner (bass / backing vocals), he shared a little insight into what is to come, saying, "Since our 2011 release we've just released singles. We're currently working on a brand new EP, with Matt, and it's going to be all new material, never heard before." He also went on to say, "There's no set date right now for it to be released. But, we have a lot of finished work so it'll definitely be out this year. We're really excited about it, more than anything we've ever put out yet."
So, I think it is evident why The Gift Of Ghosts is taking home this week's 'Song of the Week' spot with Lost Boys. For a band that has already shared the stage with some pretty known names, including Asking Alexandria, We Came As Romans, Sleeping With Sirens, Motionless In White, A Day To Remember, Texas In July and many, many more, it is pretty clear they know what they are doing. And, by what they have released so far, I know I will be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for their next EP to hit the internet.
If you want to see what this band is capable of, head on over to their official Youtube Channel. While you are there, you can check out a few older songs, as well as this week's 'Song of the Week' and their official lyric video for Lost Boys, seen here:
See you next Sunday for the next 'Song of the Week' article to be added to our pile. But, until then, head on over to The Gift Of Ghosts' Facebook page, take a look around, and see just what fans, and myself, are going nuts about.
