Featured: January 27-February 2 2013 - Paramore - Now

It is January 27th 2013 which means it is time to announce the next 'Song of the Week'.

The song getting recognized as this week's 'Song of the Week' is one you have all probably heard by now. It has definitely been taking Youtube by storm since being uploaded on January 21st 2013.

Nine years after originally forming and Paramore are still going strong. Although their line up has changed over the past few years, with the departure of Josh and Zac Farro, one thing still holds true for this Franklin, Tennessee band. Three full length albums, three EPs and fifteen singles later and this band can still write some incredible music.

Now, this rock/pop/punk band's newest single, was released on the Fueled By Ramen Youtube Channel only six days ago, yet already has close to seven hundred thousand views. But, if you know Paramore at all, that is nothing for this insanely talented band.

It is honestly crazy to imagine this band has been around for nearly nine years. The even more astonishing fact is that I still remember the day I first heard Misery Business come on the radio while I was driving around with my parents. Not to sound cheesy, but it was 'love at first listen' and from then on I was officially a Paramore fan...or addict. And, nearing six years after my first listen and I could not be more stoked to hear that this band is dropping their fourth full length album, self-titled Paramore, on April 9th 2013.

If you have been a fan for many years, such as myself, you have seen the musical evolution this band has pursued. And, their latest single, Now, is quite the step from their first single, Pressure, which was released in 2005. Now shows off a slightly different side, or edge, to their songwriting capabilities. But, it seems as though fans are loving it.

When I first heard Now I was quite honestly shocked as to how different it did sound from this band's previous singles. However, after a few repeats I can now say I am addicted. The song is nothing but catchy and it definitely deserves the 'Song of the Week' spot.

All over the internet people have been commenting about the new direction that Now seems to bring. Infact, Matthew Leimkuehler of the Columbia Missourian made his comment clear stating, "This particular track has more of an edge to it, while still containing one of the best hooks delivered from a rock band in the last few years."

So, although I will admit I do miss the Farro brothers, I could not be more excited to pick up Paramore's newest release, due out in April 2013. Hayley Williams (vocals / keyboard), Taylor York (guitar) and Jeremy Davis (bass) are full of talent and it is apparent that they are still capable of writing some of the best music out there.

If you have yet to hear Now, this week's 'Song of the Week', make sure you give it a good old listen on Youtube right away. Turn your speakers up and check out the track on Fueled By Ramen's Youtube Channel, here:

See you next Sunday for another new 'Song of the Week' to be added. Until then, check out Now and get stoked for their newest release. As well, if you are in North America, make sure you check out Paramore's tour list as they have just announced a brand new 2013 tour and they may be coming to a city near you.
