Featured: January 2013-2014 - Cloud Nine

A lot can happen in only twelve months. Some artists or bands will disband, while others may be climbing the charts.

So, we decided to take a look back and check up on the artists or bands who have previously received a 'Band of the Month' spot to see where they are now.

One year ago this month we featured the Calgary, Alberta [based duo] Cloud Nine, right here on the official Basement Entertainment website, as the January 2013 'Band of the Month'.

With twelve months having passed, it is now time to check back in on Cloud Nine and see just what these two young men have been up to since their feature.

Shortly after being featured on Basement Entertainment's website, in January of 2013, Cloud Nine took a five month break, preparing themselves for the pre-production of their upcoming EP. Then, on June 15th 2013 they announced that they were gearing up to start tracking the EP.

Near the end of June of 2013, Cloud Nine posted progress pictures showing the guitar tracking and mixing of their upcoming EP, which they had yet to release any official information about to fans.

Moving into July of 2013, Eli Budwill (vocals) and Chad McMonagle (guitar / backing vocals) announced that their brand new EP, which would be titled Summer Time Love, was set to be released on August 16th 2013.

A little later that month, on July 14th 2013, Cloud Nine released their first song off their upcoming EP Summer Time Love. The song, titled All Night Long, continued to show this band's catchy pop sound, and, it certainly created excitement among their fans in anticipation of the EP release.

On July 20th 2013 Elijah and Chad announced that they were working on a few collaborations for Summer Time Love, building even more to the excitement of the upcoming release date.

In late July of 2013 Cloud Nine decided to go on a break, unfortunately just before the release of their EP. Chad McMonagle assures fans that the duo is still together and will be back shortly, along with the release of their Summer Time Love EP.

So, although we are still anticipating the release of Summer Time Love sometime in the future, Cloud Nine's music still continues to impress fans all around the world.

I wish both Elijah and Chad all the best as they move forward with Cloud Nine throughout 2014.
