A lot can happen in only twelve months. Some artists or bands will disband, while others may be climbing the charts.
So, we decided to take a look back and check up on the artists or bands who have previously received a 'Band of the Month' spot to see where they are now.
Just one year ago we featured the Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario based duo by the name of Sarah Bernardo Music after you, the fans, voted them as the December 2012 'Band of the Month'. And, well, one year has passed meaning it is time to check up on Sarah Bernardo and her sister, Victoria Bernardo, to see what they have been up to.
Throughout December of 2012 Sarah and Victoria hit the stage numerous times around Kitchener and Waterloo, Ontario, including taking part in two charity events for Christmas. And, of course, they finished out the year by playing Basement Entertainment's event in Waterloo, Ontario, with the headlining act, The Icarus Account.
Sarah and Victoria Bernardo welcomed in 2013 with three all ages events in Waterloo, Ontario, two of which were acoustic events. As well, they released a video performance of their original song, titled Kite, to their Youtube Channel on January 28th 2013. The video for Kite also showcased their newest member, drummer Nate Melo.
Throughout the next few months Sarah, Victoria and Nate stayed busy hitting the stage as much as possible. In February the three played an acoustic set in Kitchener, Ontario at Basement Entertainment's second birthday event. And, the next month they took the stage, alongside headliners Live The Story and Take Me To The Pilot, at another Basement Entertainment event in Waterloo, Ontario.
Throughout April and May of 2013, Sarah Bernardo Music played two acoustic events and one full band event, once again amongst Kitchener and Waterloo, Ontario. Plus, on May 11th 2013 they played the 2013 KoiCon Festival, which was held throughout Kitchener, Ontario.
At the end of May of 2013, Sarah, Victoria and Nate released another amazing performance video of their song Towers to their Youtube Channel. And, they also announced that their name, Sarah Bernardo Music, would be changing to So Much For Subtle moving forward.
On June 14th 2013, So Much For Subtle played another Basement Entertainment event, this time a nineteen plus event in downtown Kitchener, Ontario. And, the next day they hit the stage in Ayr, Ontario at the Fresh Ayr Festival.
In August of 2013 So Much For Subtle received the opportunity to play the 2013 Rock The Mill event in Cambridge, Ontario. Plus, the band went on to add another new member, guitarist Shane Penhale.
In the last few months the four have managed to play Kitchener, Ontario's annual KOI Music Festival, in September of 2013, and they even opened for The Reason in Cambridge, Ontario on November 15th 2013.
So, it is no doubt that this band continues to spread their name, as well as their talent, throughout the music scene all across Canada. It is evident they know how to catch people's attention and, well, their futures certainly continue to look bright.
I wish So Much For Subtle all the best as their careers continue to take off and grow for years to come.
