A lot can happen in only twelve months. Some artists or bands will disband, while others may be climbing the charts.
So, we decided to take a look back and check up on the artists or bands who have previously received a 'Band of the Month' spot to see where they are now.
Dominating our poll last October 2012 was the Kitchener, Ontario based band, Every Other Day, who won the 'Band of the Month' position as voted by you, the fans. And, of course, this band has been steady over the past twelve months.
Two months after receiving Basement Entertainment's featured spot, Every Other Day released their single, titled Bad Weather, to their iTunes page on December 13th 2012. Then, two days later, and the band played alongside Fort Myers, Florida acoustic/pop duo, The Icarus Account, at Basement Entertainment's event in Waterloo, Ontario. And, to close out 2012, the guys announced the addition of their new bassist, Micheala Clair.
Moving into 2013, Every Other Day announced that they were getting ready to track their upcoming EP in January. Over the next few months they played a few events, one on February 9th 2013 in Kitchener, Ontario and another Basement Entertainment event on March 21st 2013, alongside Take Me To The Pilot and a few others in Waterloo, Ontario. As well, they hit five hundred 'likes' on their Facebook page in early April of 2013.
On April 12th 2013, Every Other Day released their latest single, Sometimes I Forget, to their iTunes page. Plus, alongside that release, [Kitchener, Ontario's] The Sound Distillery, the recording studio where their upcoming EP was being recorded, posted an acoustic version of the song, to their Youtube Channel.
Just one day after that video hit the internet the band released their debut EP, titled The Dalliance, which features five phenomenal original tunes. The EP release was celebrated with an EP release event in Kitchener, Ontario on April 25th 2013.
Fast forward one month and Every Other Day found themselves playing the 2013 KoiCon Festival [right here] in Kitchener, Ontario. And, one month after that the band appeared in the local newspaper, The Record, launched an official website and joined the stage with Courage My Love on their Kitchener, Ontario date of their The Becoming Tour on June 18th 2013.
On July 19th 2013, the band announced the new addition of keyboardist Cam Reichard, who would replace Tim McKee as he set off for university.
Most recently, Every Other Day released their official music video for Sometimes I Forget, on August 4th 2013, which has now earned well over three thousand views. In addition, the band played the 2013 Rock The Mill event in Cambridge, Ontario, as well as an August date in Waterloo, Ontario and an early September date in Kitchener, Ontario. Plus, the band now sits at [just under] eight hundred 'likes' on their Facebook page.
Last month Every Other Day was featured on Kitchener, Ontario's news channel, CTV News, as a part of their The Scene weekly feature. The feature aired on September 4th 2013 and the four members shared a brief interview with news host Nancy Richards.
So, as far as the future of Every Other Day, well, it appears to be very strong. The band is currently tracking new demos and preparing for what they have planned for the rest of 2013. And, let's be honest, if it is anything like what they have done so far, this band will continue to impress. Nonetheless, I wish Ryan Chambers (vocals / guitar), Micheala Clair (bass), Cam Reichard (keyboard) and Shawn Moore (drums) all the best of luck as their careers continue to grow.
