A lot can happen in only twelve months. Some artists or bands will disband, while others may be climbing the charts.
So, we decided to take a look back and check up on the artists or bands who have previously received a 'Band of the Month' spot to see where they are now.
Take Me To The Pilot, the band who received Basement Entertainment's July 2012 'Band of the Month' spot have continued to expand their careers over the past twelve months. And, this band has seriously been busy.
Shortly before receiving the 'Band of the Month' spot, in July of 2012, Mike Bilenki (vocals / guitar), Eric Grabowecky (guitar), Adam Brown (bass / backing vocals) and Jonathan James (drums) released their brand new EP, titled What Makes You, to iTunes on June 15th 2012. Plus, adding to that excitement, five days later they released their official music video for their first single off the EP, What About The Time.
With the release of their EP, and the music video, came lots of events. For the second half of June and the first half of July of 2012 Take Me To The Pilot set out, alongside another talented band known as Fairview. Together they toured across Ontario and Quebec hitting up cities such as Whitby, Hamilton, Toronto and Waterloo, where Basement Entertainment booked the guys, among a few others.
Over the summer the guys wound down from their tour and kept busy planning the next few months. In early September of 2012 they played a hometown event in Winnipeg, Manitoba and in early October announced that they would be playing around the Alberta region in early November.
In October of 2012 Take Me To The Pilot announced on their Facebook page that, until the end of January 2013, they would be donating one hundred percent of the iTunes profit from their song Green Eyes to United Way.
Later that month they released a lyric video for their song Baby, We're Gonna Be Rich, which can be found on their latest EP. On top of that, they announced they would be playing another Winnipeg, Manitoba hometown event in November.
Moving forward to 2013 and so far this year has treated them well also. In February of 2013 Take Me To The Pilot confirmed, via their Facebook page, that they would [once again] be hitting the stage, March 20th 2013, at the Canadian Music Week 2013 event in Toronto, Ontario.
Just fifteen days after that exciting announcement and the guys managed to announce another exciting piece of news. They would be hitting the road once again. So, they spent parts of March 2013 on the road, with friends Live The Story, across Ontario, once again playing places such as Thunder Bay, Toronto, Waterloo, where Basement Entertainment was able to book the guys for the second time, and a few others.
As if things could not get better for this band, they announced [yet another] phenomenal tour right after getting home from their March tour. But, unlike their previous tours, the guys were finally touring somewhere they did not get to go to much, the United States.
In early April 2013 the four played their first arena event, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, for an event called TJ's Gift. They then spent the last part of April and nearly all of May on the road. The guys were a part of the Epic Proportions Tour and travelled from Texas to Kansas to Arizona and California, and, of course, a few places in between. And, halfway through their American tour, on May 3rd 2013, they released their official music video for their addicting new single, Melody.
So, I think it is quite fair to say these four have been pretty busy over the last twelve months. On top of their exciting tours and releases, the guys also crossed five thousand 'likes' on Facebook and are [now] sitting at just over ninety nine thousand views on Youtube.
With what these young men have already done I think I can say everyone is stoked to see what else they are capable of. And, I wish Mike, Eric, Adam and Jonathan all the best.
