A lot can happen in only twelve months. Some artists or bands will disband, while others may be climbing the charts.
So, we decided to take a look back and check up on the artists or bands who have previously received a 'Band of the Month' spot to see where they are now.
For Braden Barrie, and his project SayWeCanFly, the past year has definitely been a great one. Since being featured as the March 2012 'Band of the Month' just twelve months ago, this young man has been soaring with his career.
Where do I even begin? Four months after being featured Braden released his newest EP, titled Dandelion Necklace, on July 17th 2012. The following week his song Seventeen was featured as Basement Entertainment's 'Song of the Week' as well.
Move forward one month and SayWeCanFly hit the road with Toronto, Ontario acoustic musician Andrew Hyatt. And, only four months after that tour concluded, Braden was back on the road and SayWeCanFly shared a tour with another Toronto, Ontario musician, Andrew Bisante.
In between Braden's increasing tour schedule, SayWeCanFly received some attention from press all around the world. In July of 2012 SayWeCanFly was featured on the official PureVolume website. And, in August 2012 Braden's Stickam event attracted more than thirty thousand unique visitors. Beyond that, the official music video for Dandelion Necklace, the title track off his latest EP, was released and is currently sitting at [just under] twenty thousand views on Youtube.
So, what could this talented young man from Lindsay, Ontario possibly be up to during 2013? Well, Braden just finished up a tour throughout the United States with McDowell, Kentucky friend Troy Williamson and his acoustic project, Escaping Juliet. The tour hit states such as Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and a few others. As well, SayWeCanFly was featured in the March 2013 Alternative Press Magazine.
The next few months seem busy for SayWeCanFly as well. Braden just announced a new batch of April Ontario tour dates, including events in London, Whitby, Hamilton and a few other cities. Plus, his newest music video for his track Seventeen is being filmed, and hopefully released, within the next little while as well.
As Braden says, "We can do anything we desire, so put all of the doubts aside and SayWeCanFly." And, with the talent and passion this young man expresses, his future is definitely going to be something amazing.
I still cannot wait to see where SayWeCanFly will go and I truly wish Braden all the best as his career continues to take off.
